And according to a study by the restaurant automation company Poster and the specialized publication "Restaurateur roars and groans", there is even an increase in the number of restaurants in two segments of the restaurant business. How many establishments have closed and opened during the war in Ukraine?

Analysts analyzed general market statistics accumulated from various open sources and concluded that during the war, coffee shops and fast food showed the best results in terms of the number of openings.

The general results (comparing data for April 2024 and December 2021) are as follows:

– the number of coffee shops in Ukraine increased by 35%;

– the number of fast food outlets increased by 15%;

– the number of bakeries decreased by 9%;

– the number of cafes and restaurants decreased by 13% and 17% respectively;

– the number of pubs and bars decreased by 16% and 32%, respectively;

– the number of delivery establishments decreased by 17%;

– the number of confectioneries decreased by 34%.

The largest drop in the number of establishments was recorded in hookah bars - a 35% reduction compared to the number before the full-scale war.
