In 2025, Ukrainians are rapidly switching to electric cars — their share is already catching up with cars with traditional engines. Find out which models have become the most popular and how the market has changed
Demand for cars in Ukraine continues to change under the influence of economic factors, fuel costs, and the development of electrical infrastructure. Data from Ukravtoprom for November 2025 shows a significant shift in Ukrainians' preferences regarding engine types. Electric cars, which accounted for a negligible share of the market just a few years ago, are now almost as popular as cars with traditional engines.
Car sales in Ukraine in November 2025: what has changed
In November 2025, Ukrainians most often chose fully electric models. The structure of the new passenger car market looked like this:
● Electric cars — 38.5% of the market (last year — 12.8%);
● Gasoline cars — 28.5% (last year — 35.5%);
● Diesel cars — almost 17% (last year — 29%);
● Hybrids — 16% (last year — 22.5%);
● Cars with LPG systems — less than 1%.
It is important to note that regardless of the choice of car — electric, gasoline, or diesel — drivers in Ukraine still need to have compulsory car insurance (MTPL). You can quickly purchase auto insurance online at Visit Ukraine, without lengthy checks and queues.

Which models became the sales leaders in their segments
Ukravtoprom also published a list of the most popular models in each category.
1. Electric cars: BYD Leopard 3 — the leader among electric cars in November.
2. Gasoline engines: Renault Duster had the highest sales.
3. Diesel cars: Renault Duster also leads in the diesel segment.
4. Hybrid models: Toyota RAV4 holds the lead.
5. Cars with LPG systems: Hyundai Tucson became the most popular in this segment.
This structure of leaders shows that despite the growing interest in electric cars, popular crossovers with gasoline and diesel engines remain a significant part of the Ukrainian market.
We remind you! Ukrainians continue to actively buy cars at American auctions — despite seasonal fluctuations, logistical pauses, and changing tax rules, demand remains at an impressively stable level. Read about how many cars Ukrainians buy each week and what factors most strongly influence demand.
