Kyiv–Bucharest train: Ukrzaliznytsia has extended the route and added three stops
The international route Kyiv–Bucharest has become even more convenient — Ukrainian Railways has added three new stops in Moldova. This opens up new opportunities for traveling to Europe by rail. Find out what is changing and how to purchase tickets
Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the expansion of the Kyiv–Bucharest international route. From now on, the train will make additional stops in Moldova, allowing passengers to reach three more cities.
New opportunities for travel through Moldova
According to the company's official statement, train No. 99/100 Kyiv–Bucharest now passes through the Moldovan cities of Ungheni, Bălți-Oraš, and Ocnița, where it picks up and drops off passengers.
“The train undergoes border control in the cities of Velcinets and Ungheni. So, when planning your trip, take this into account. Also, keep in mind that citizens of countries that are not members of the EU must have a transit visa to travel through Moldova. Ukrainians do not need one,” said UZ.
Ukrainians can already purchase tickets for the updated route on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia, in the mobile app, or at railway ticket offices.

A convenient route to Europe
The Kyiv-Bucharest route has already become one of the most popular international destinations.
In just one month, 6,588 Ukrainians used this train. Passengers note that this is a convenient option for getting to European airports, in particular in Bucharest, and quickly continuing their journey to other EU countries.
The updated route through Moldova makes the connection even more accessible — both for those leaving Ukraine and for travelers coming to our country from Europe.
Thanks to new stops in Ungheni, Bălți, and Ocnița, the Kyiv–Bucharest route is becoming even more attractive to passengers.
