The Ukrainian car market continues to show a stable trend—crossovers are the preferred choice of buyers. According to data from the Ukravtoprom, these cars accounted for 38% of all new car sales in October 2025.

Crossovers remain the most desirable type of car among Ukrainians, thanks to their combination of versatility, increased cross-country ability, and comfort. They are equally convenient for city driving and trips outside of populated areas, making them a practical choice for Ukrainian road conditions.

The top ten most popular models in October included only crossovers — without a single sedan or hatchback. According to Ukravtoprom, the rating looks like this:

1. Volkswagen ID.Unyx — 441 units sold

2. Renault Duster — 432 units

3. BYD Song Plus — 391 units

4. Toyota RAV4 — 384 units

5. BYD Leopard 3 — 261 units

6. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado — 247 units

7. Hyundai Tucson — 244 units

8. Skoda Kodiaq — 217 units

9. Volkswagen Touareg — 189 units

10. Zeekr 7X — 169 units

It is noteworthy that several electric models are among the sales leaders. In particular, the Volkswagen ID.Unyx, a fully electric crossover, topped the ranking. By the way, we recently wrote that Ukraine is experiencing a real electric boom — sales of electric cars have broken a historic record.

Experts explain the popularity of crossovers by their practicality. Drivers appreciate the high ground clearance, spacious interior, roomy trunk, and safety while driving. In rural areas or on rough roads, this is often a decisive argument in favor of a crossover.
