Verification via Diia.Signature for purchasing Ukrzaliznytsia tickets: which trains are subject to this requirement from August 1?
Ukrzaliznytsia has limited the list of trains where mandatory verification via Diia.Signature is required. Find out which destinations are affected, how to pass the verification, and what to do without the app
On August 1, 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia launched a pilot project to verify passengers when purchasing or returning tickets through Diia.Signature. The main goal is to combat ticket scalpers and intermediaries who buy up tickets en masse, as well as to protect honest passengers who are often unable to buy tickets on time due to speculation.
Who will be affected by the new UZ ticket purchase rules?
Initially, it was planned to cover significantly more destinations, but after analyzing customer feedback and evaluating the response, Ukrzaliznytsia decided to reduce the list of flights for which verification through Diia is mandatory. Currently, verification through Diia.Signature will only be required for three destinations:
→ Train No. 29/30 Kyiv — Uzhhorod
→ Train No. 12 Lviv — Odesa
→ Train No. 27/28 Kyiv — Chop
Verification through Diia is also required to purchase tickets for some international destinations. For information on how to purchase UZ tickets for foreigners and those who do not have Diia, please follow the link.

How does verification through Diia work?
When purchasing or returning a ticket in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, passengers must verify their identity through Diia.Signature. To do this, you must have a biometric passport or ID card, as well as an active Diia app with a configured signature. This mechanism allows UZ to verify that the ticket is being purchased by a real person, not a bot or intermediary.
What should passengers without Diia or a biometric passport do?
For those who are unable to undergo online verification, there is an alternative: tickets for the specified trains can be purchased at certain ticket offices at train stations. The list of locations where tickets can be purchased without electronic identification is as follows:
● Chop — ticket office No. 2
● Uzhhorod — ticket office No. 2
● Lviv — ticket office No. 1
● Odesa — ticket offices No. 14 and No. 2
● Kyiv — ticket offices No. 21 and No. 22
Thus, all passengers — both those who use digital services and those who are accustomed to traditional methods of purchasing tickets — have access to the carrier's services.
