AirHelp has published its ranking of the best and worst airports in Europe for 2025. Find out which airports are worth choosing for your travels and which ones are best to avoid
The annual study by the authoritative company AirHelp, which specializes in passenger rights, has published a ranking of the best and worst airports in the world and Europe for 2025.
The assessment was based on three key criteria: flight punctuality, passenger service quality, and airport infrastructure.
In total, more than 13,500 traveler reviews collected between June 2024 and May 2025 were analyzed.
The best airports in Europe in 2025
Bergen (Norway) received the highest rating among European airports, distinguished by its consistent punctuality, cleanliness, and convenience. The top five also included:
Cape Town (South Africa) — although not geographically located in Europe, AirHelp included it in the European ranking for its high standards of service.
Liverpool (United Kingdom) — received positive ratings for comfort and clear organization.
Helsinki (Finland) — distinguished itself for its efficiency in handling passenger traffic.
Oslo (Norway) — once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most convenient hubs in Northern Europe.

The worst airports in Europe
At the other end of the ranking are airports that have been criticized for frequent flight delays, long queues, poor service, and inconvenient infrastructure. These include:
Rhodes Diagoras (Greece) — ranked last among European airports in 2025.
London Gatwick (United Kingdom) — low rating for service and security checks.
Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) — despite its status as an international hub, it has been criticized for long delays and overcrowding.

Global leaders
In the global ranking, Cape Town Airport (South Africa) was named the best airport in the world with a score of 8.57 out of 10. It is followed by:
Doha Hamad Airport (Qatar) — 8.52.
King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) — 8.47.
The AirHelp 2025 ranking confirmed that the quality of airport service varies significantly even within Europe. Scandinavian countries once again demonstrate their efficiency, while some large international hubs need significant improvement. For passengers, this ranking is a useful guide when planning trips and choosing connections.
✈️ Travel tip: if punctuality and comfort are important to you, choose a trusted airport from the list of the best. And don't forget that in the event of a delay or cancellation, you can exercise your passenger rights, including claiming compensation under EU Regulation 261.
