A train delay is a deviation from the timetable, which can be an unpleasant surprise for passengers.

In times of war and increased load on the transport infrastructure, such situations are not uncommon. Fortunately, Ukrzaliznytsia offers a number of convenient ways to quickly find out about delays and adjust your plans.

UZ train delays: how to find out the exact arrival time

At the station

The easiest and most reliable way is to get information directly at the station. This can be done:

- through announcements made by the station announcer;

- using electronic display boards;

- at the information desk (if available at the station).

It is also worth contacting the train crew — the conductor or train manager — if you are already on the road.

Online sources: official services of Ukrzaliznytsia

1. Portal “UZ Vezemo”

With the start of the full-scale war, Ukrzaliznytsia launched the portal “UZ Vezemo,” where you can find out about all train delays in the country in real time.

Go directly to the page, and you will see a list of trains with the specified delay time.

2. Official website of Ukrzaliznytsia

Another reliable tool is the “Train Delays” section at uz.gov.ua. This service has been operating since 2013 and allows you to view a list of trains that are delayed at a specific station.

The downside is that it does not provide a complete picture of the entire route, only the selected arrival point.

3. UZ mobile app

The Ukrzaliznytsia app has a “Tablo” tab where you can select a station and check which trains are expected to be delayed. On the “Arrivals” tab, a mark will appear next to the train number if it is delayed.

4. Chatbots on Telegram and Viber

The official Ukrzaliznytsia chatbots on Viber and Telegram allow you to get information about delays — just press the corresponding button in the main menu.

5. Hotline

If you are already on the train

The train conductor or conductor will provide the most up-to-date information on delays or changes in the schedule. They have information about the estimated duration of the delay, changes to the track or route, as well as advice on how to proceed.

or by phone.

However, the fastest and most accurate information can be obtained directly from station staff or train crew, especially in cases of urgent changes to the route or schedule.

Frequantly
asked questions
How long can I return a train ticket?
The refund amount depends on the time when the ticket was handed in. Thus, if it is more than a day before the train departure: - more than a day, the full cost of the ticket and reserved seat is refunded; - from 24 to 6 hours - the full cost of the ticket and 50% of the reserved seat cost; - less than 6 hours - only the full cost of the ticket. If a person returns a ticket within an hour after the train departure, only 10% of the ticket price is refunded (you can return the ticket only at the station ticket office). Tickets are not refundable if more than an hour has passed since the train departure. The only exceptions are emergency cases, and to get a refund you need to issue a special ‘claim ticket return’.
