How to apply for group transportation by Ukrzaliznytsia in 2025: conditions, deadlines, and tips

Group transportation by Ukrzaliznytsia has become particularly popular during the summer. Learn how to fill out the application correctly, when to submit it, and why it is important to plan your trip in advance

During the summer season, demand for group rail transportation increases significantly, especially from organizers of children's recreation. In this regard, Ukrzaliznytsia urges you to submit applications for group trips in advance, as the number of available cars is limited and priority is given to socially important categories.

How to apply for group transportation by train?

The process of placing group orders with Ukrzaliznytsia is as digitalized as possible. Applications are submitted exclusively online through the official service. To apply, you need to:

1. fill in the personal details of the responsible person or organization (individual/legal entity),

2. specify the departure and arrival stations,

3. select the date, train, and type of carriage (open seating, compartment, SV, Intercity),

4. add a return trip (if necessary),

5. enter the number of passengers by category (children, students, adults, passengers with special privileges).

Important: the minimum number of passengers is 10.

After submitting the application, the system will wait for payment for the reservation within 48 hours. If payment confirmation is not received within this period, the order will be automatically canceled.

How long before the trip should I submit an application for group transportation to Ukrzaliznytsia?

To avoid rejection or long waits for confirmation, Ukrzaliznytsia asks that you submit your request no earlier than 35 days and no later than 10 days before the departure date. This allows for effective planning of passenger seating, train composition, and ticket reservations.

Why is it important to apply for group transportation by train in advance?

As of June 2025, approximately 500 applications for group transportation are received daily, while the company's actual capacity allows it to satisfy only half of them. The main reason is the limited number of carriages, especially during peak periods such as holidays and summer camps. Therefore, even if the route is popular and there are enough trains, it is not always possible to allocate a separate carriage for a group without advance booking.

What destinations are available for international group transportation?

As of 2025, group orders for international routes are temporarily available only to/from Chisinau, Przemyśl, Chełm, and Budapest. Here, too, socially vulnerable categories of passengers have priority.
