Lebensmittelpreise: Wie viel wird der Neujahrstisch in der Ukraine in diesem Jahr kosten?

The rise in food prices in Ukraine is primarily due to the war. And unfortunately, most Ukrainians will have to save even on the traditional set of products for the New Year's table. Thus, according to researchers from the Institute of Agrarian Economics, the average family in Ukraine will have to pay 8.4% more for the celebration than last year.

So, how much the New Year's table will cost and how food prices have changed - we will tell you further in the article.

How much do you need to spend to set a traditional New Year's table in Ukraine?

According to Yuriy Lupenko, director of the National Research Center and academician, salads, meat and fish products, vegetables, fruits, bakery and confectionery products, drinks, etc. that are traditional for the Ukrainian holiday table will cost a family of 4 about UAH 2879.15, which is 8.4% more than last year.

Estimated cost of a festive table:

▶︎ Olivier salad (based on 3 kg of products according to the original recipe) - UAH 285.46, which is 1.3% more than last year.

▶︎ Herring under a fur coat salad - 133.08 UAH, which is 1.2% less than last year due to lower prices for onions, carrots and beets.

▶︎ herring (0.5 kg) - 100 UAH.

▶︎ hard cheese (300 g) - 116 UAH.

▶︎ a pack of butter - 72 UAH.

▶︎ bread - 28 UAH (+ 8.5%).

▶︎ a set of vegetables (potatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes) - 328.99 UAH, which is 29% more than last year.

▶︎ fruits (tangerines, bananas and lemon) - UAH 170.20 (+0.8%).

▶︎ chocolates (1 kg) - UAH 200 (+8.1%).

▶︎ champagne - 179 UAH (+ 27.9%).

▶︎ soft drinks (juice and soda) - 119.72 UAH.

At the same time, the cost of meat products will increase by 7.4%:

▶︎ half a kilogram of sliced raw smoked salami sausage - UAH 270, which is 8% more than last year.

▶︎ sliced smoked underbelly - 247 UAH (+4.2%).

▶︎ fresh pork chop - 260 UAH (+4%).

▶︎ chicken fillet - 159 UAH (+18.3%).

In total, the cost of 2.5 kg of meat products on the New Year's table will be UAH 936.

Thus, the cost of the budget version of the New Year's table for a Ukrainian will be UAH 2879.15. Families who can afford to buy delicacies will have to pay an additional UAH 525. Depending on the manufacturer, a 120 g jar of red caviar will cost an average of UAH 280, and 200 g of red fish will cost UAH 245. Thus, the cost of a New Year's table with delicacies will amount to UAH 3404.15.

At the same time, prices in the capital of Ukraine are different, so the researchers calculated the cost of the New Year's table for Kyiv separately. Thus, the cost of the budget version of the New Year's table for Kyiv residents will be UAH 3229, which is 10.1% more than last year. A table with delicacies will cost UAH 3,819.
