Tourism in Ukraine is generating more and more revenue: tourism tax has increased again
Domestic tourism in Ukraine is showing steady recovery and is increasingly filling regional budgets. Due to the growth in the number of trips, hotel occupancy and the development of services for travellers, the tourism industry has shown noticeable financial results even in difficult conditions. Find out which regions have become leaders in tourism revenue
The tourism industry in Ukraine continues to show steady growth despite difficult conditions. According to the results of the first three quarters of 2025, revenues from tourism taxes increased by 35% compared to the same period last year and reached UAH 234.3 million. These figures were announced during the presentation of the new tourism dashboard, the first digital tool that accumulates complete industry statistics based on state registers.

It was followed by the Lviv region with 42.5 million hryvnias and the Ivano-Frankivsk region with 32.4 million hryvnias. These destinations remain the most attractive for domestic and business tourism.

Growth of the entire tourism sector
Positive dynamics are observed not only in tourist fees. Overall, tax revenues from the tourism industry grew by 40% and already exceeded UAH 1.8 billion in the first half of 2025. The key drivers of financial growth were hotels in the capital and western regions, where there is stable demand for accommodation.
Digitalisation and investment
According to First Deputy Minister Olena Shkrum, the launch of the new tourism dashboard is intended to promote the de-shadowing of the industry, increase data transparency and simplify investor access to current statistics. The tool is expected to help businesses and local authorities plan the development of tourism infrastructure and new projects more accurately.
Experts note that the development of tourism is directly related to the quality of service and ease of travel.
