Ukraine has set electricity tariffs for residential consumers for the beginning of 2026. Find out how much electricity will cost and how long the fixed tariff will be in effect
From the beginning of 2026, a fixed electricity tariff will remain in place for domestic consumers in Ukraine. The relevant decision was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, extending the special mechanism for regulating prices on the energy market. We explain how much electricity will cost, how long the tariff will remain in effect, and what will change (or remain unchanged) for consumers in 2026.
What electricity tariff will be in effect from January 1, 2026
According to the government's decision, from January 1, 2026, Ukrainians will pay UAH 4.32 per 1 kWh of electricity. This tariff is set for residential consumers and will be in effect until April 30, 2026, inclusive.
Thus, for the first four months of the year, the price for the population will remain fixed without a phased increase.

Why the tariff was extended: what are special obligations in the market
The government has extended the mechanism of imposing special obligations (PSO) on electricity market participants. It is this mechanism that allows the tariff for the population to be kept at a certain level, compensating for the difference between the market price and the price for residential consumers.
Previously, the term of the SDO was limited to October 31, 2025, but by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, it was extended until April 30, 2026. This means that the state will continue to assume a regulatory role in order to avoid sharp tariff fluctuations for the population.
We remind you! Social workers in Ukraine will see a significant increase in salaries starting in early 2026. Salaries will increase 2.5 times in accordance with the government's decision. Read about which professions are subject to the new rules and how much they will be paid.
