The most popular used cars from the United States: what Ukrainians are buying
Ukrainians are increasingly buying used cars from the United States, and the market for American cars is setting new records. Electric cars, crossovers, and popular family models are confidently taking the lead. Find out which cars are imported most often, how old they are, and why they are the choice of Ukrainian drivers
Ukrainians are actively replenishing their car fleets with vehicles from the United States, and import rates are steadily increasing. In November alone, approximately 5,500 used passenger cars were imported into Ukraine from the United States, which is more than twice the number imported during the same period last year. These figures were provided by Ukravtoprom.
Which cars are imported most often
The average age of imported cars is about 5 years, which means that relatively new vehicles with good technical resources are entering the market. The distribution by engine type is also interesting:
— electric cars — 53%,
— petrol — 34%,
— hybrids — 8%,
— diesel — 3%,
— cars with LPG systems — 2%.
Ukraine continues to move confidently towards electric cars, which is facilitated by fuel savings, favourable import conditions, and interest in modern technologies.

Keep in mind: regardless of the type and brand of car you choose — electric, gasoline, or diesel — drivers in Ukraine are still required to have compulsory motor insurance (MTPL). You can get motor insurance quickly and online at Visit Ukraine, without lengthy checks and queues.
Reminder! The state has launched a new support mechanism for defenders of Ukraine — now combatants and people with disabilities as a result of the war can get a refund for the cost of their motor insurance policy directly through the Diya app. No queues, paper certificates or complicated procedures — the entire application process takes place online, and the money is credited to your card. Find out who is eligible for compensation, what conditions must be met and how to apply step by step.
