“eVidnovlennia” in 2026: how compensation for damaged housing repairs will increase
In Ukraine, starting in 2026, the approach to calculating compensation under the “eVidnovlennia” program will change. Find out how the update of the cost of repair work will affect the amount of payments, what exactly will change in the checklists, and what compensation owners of damaged housing can expect
On January 5, 2026, a government decision to update the average cost of repair work used to calculate compensation under the state program “eVidnovlennia” will come into force in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. The changes are intended to bring calculations in line with real market prices and make the financing of repairs to damaged housing more efficient.
What will change in the “eVidnovlennia” program from 2026
The key innovation is the update of the cost of work, which is taken into account when forming checklists for compensation. The damage assessment mechanism itself remains unchanged: a special commission will continue to inspect housing, record the extent of damage, and determine the list of necessary repair work.
At the same time, in checklists formed after January 5, 2026, the cost of each type of work will already be calculated according to new, updated prices. This means that the total amount of compensation for citizens will increase, and the funds received will be sufficient to cover the actual repair costs.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development notes that in the future, the cost of repair work will be reviewed annually so that compensation keeps pace with market changes.

Compensation limits: what will remain unchanged
Despite the update of the cost of work, the maximum amounts of payments under the “eVidnovlennia” program are not currently being revised. They remain the same:
● up to UAH 200,000 — for current minor repairs;
● up to UAH 350,000 — for major repairs of apartments;
● up to UAH 500,000 — for major repairs of private houses.
How much have repair works increased in price
As part of the update, the cost of 65 types of repair works was revised — from basic structural elements to engineering networks and interior decoration. On average, prices increased by 27.5%.
The ministry provided several illustrative examples:
● replacement of metal entrance doors: UAH 14,415 → UAH 31,220;
● facade restoration with insulation: UAH 2,348/sq. m → UAH 3,021/sq. m;
● local roof repair: UAH 512/sq. m → UAH 597/sq. m.
The government has also expanded the list of works that can be included in the compensation. Now it includes, in particular, works on the restoration of sewage, heating, gas, and electricity supply systems. This is especially important for households where the damage is not limited to walls or windows.
Tip: even with government programs in place, the issue of property protection remains relevant. Damage to housing can occur not only due to hostilities, but also due to fires, network failures, or other unforeseen situations. Therefore, many Ukrainians additionally choose express property insurance, which allows them to quickly receive financial support in case of damage.
You can take out such insurance for an apartment or house online on the Visit Ukraine platform — the policy is sent to your email in a few minutes and provides financial protection in unforeseen situations.
We remind you! State mortgage programs help Ukrainians buy their first home on preferential terms even during the war. Read about how “eOselya ,” “Domivka+,” loans for young people, the program for Mariupol residents, “eVidnovlennia,” and compensation under Resolution No. 719 work work.
