Which checkpoints are currently the busiest?
According to border guards, the main traffic in the days leading up to the holidays is concentrated on routes with the most developed infrastructure and convenient access roads. The largest flow of traffic and passengers is recorded at the Shehyni and Krakivets checkpoints. It is here that drivers and passengers most often face long waits, especially during the daytime.
Where are the shortest queues at the border?
At the same time, the situation is much calmer at some checkpoints. The lowest traffic intensity is currently recorded at Smilnytsia and Nyzhankovychi. These routes can be a good alternative for those who plan to travel by car and want to avoid unnecessary delays.
The situation at the Rava-Ruska, Uhryniv, and Hrushev checkpoints is stable, with no critical traffic jams. Queues are possible here, but they usually move faster than at the most popular crossings.

What to expect in the coming days?
According to border service forecasts, total passenger traffic may increase by about a quarter compared to normal levels. To ensure smooth operation at the border, border guards are increasing the number of shifts, deploying additional workplaces and coordinating actions with the Polish side. During the holidays themselves, there may be a brief decrease in traffic intensity, and a gradual easing of congestion is expected after the first days of January.
The State Border Service advises choosing less congested crossing points whenever possible, as well as planning to cross the border in the early morning or late evening. It is during these hours that traffic is usually the least congested.
What should you check before crossing the border by car?
