An important innovation for drivers is being prepared in Ukraine — the completion of a European accident statement directly in the ‘Dія’ app. The government has already adopted a corresponding resolution, and the launch of the service is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. This means that next winter, it will become much easier, faster, and safer in terms of insurance payments to complete the paperwork after a minor traffic accident.

What is a European accident statement?

A European accident statement is a simplified way to file a minor accident without calling the police. It is suitable for situations where there are no casualties, both drivers are insured and agree on the circumstances of the accident. Previously, such a statement had to be filled out manually or through separate electronic forms, which often led to errors. Any inaccuracy — an incorrectly entered surname, car number or insurance details — could be a reason for refusing to pay.

Now this process will be fully automated and integrated into DIYA by connecting to state registers. This will virtually eliminate the human factor.

How the Europrotocol will work in DIA

The service will be as simple and intuitive as possible. Drivers will only need a few clicks to record the circumstances of an accident. The algorithm is as follows:

1. Create an accident report in DIA.

A separate service for completing the Europrotocol will appear in the application.

2. DIA will automatically fill in the data from the registries.

Information about drivers, cars, and motor insurance policies will be pulled up automatically — without the risk of error.

3. Add photos from the scene of the accident.

This is supporting material required by the insurance company.

4. Select the accident diagram, specify the location, date and time.

5. Obtain the consent of the other party involved in the accident.

Everything happens online — conveniently and without unnecessary conflicts at the scene of the accident.

6. Sign the application via Diya.Sign.

A digital signature guarantees the legal validity of the document.

Once the report has been sent, the driver will be able to track the status of the claim in real time directly in Diya. Thanks to the automatic verification of all data in the registers, the risk of insurance payment being refused due to a technical error will be minimal.
