Temporary suspension of traffic to Donetsk region: Ukrzaliznytsia has restricted trains to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk
Due to the complex security situation in eastern Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the routes of trains traveling to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. Movement is temporarily restricted to the Kharkiv region, and shuttle buses have been organized for passengers. Find out how connections with Donetsk Oblast will be affected and when train service may resume
Ukrzaliznytsia has temporarily restricted train traffic in the direction of Kramatorsk to the borders of the Kharkiv region. This decision was made due to the escalation of the security situation in the region.
As reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin, the changes affect five long-distance trains traveling in the direction of Kramatorsk. Passengers will receive updated information about the final station in the Ukrzaliznytsia app on the day of departure.
"The decision is dictated by security factors. We are making every effort to ensure convenient transfers and assistance to passengers," Filashkin said.
Organization of transfers and shuttle buses
For the convenience of passengers, shuttle buses have been organized to connect Kramatorsk and Sloviansk with the temporary final station of the trains. In addition, suburban transportation has been partially restricted, in particular on the Bantysheve-Kramatorsk and Sloviansk-Raigorodok routes.
Ukrzaliznytsia emphasizes that conductors and station employees accompany passengers during transfers, help them find their way around, and get to their destinations.

Priority — people's safety
“People's safety is the most important priority. Together with the Defense Forces, law enforcement agencies, and Ukrzaliznytsia, we are constantly monitoring the situation and will resume traffic as soon as it becomes possible,” emphasized the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
It is noted that train traffic to eastern Ukraine has been repeatedly adjusted due to shelling and danger to civilians. Ukrzaliznytsia continues to work in close coordination with the military and local administrations to ensure safe travel and support for passengers, even in frontline regions.
Reminder! President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of two large-scale initiatives: free trips across Ukraine for 3,000 kilometers and a one-time payment of 1,000 hryvnias as part of the “winter support” program - these measures are aimed at helping citizens and stimulating domestic tourism. We have already told you who will be able to use the programs, when applications will be accepted and how to receive payments or free kilometers.
