17th extension of martial law

This is the 17th decision of the Verkhovna Rada to extend the terms of martial law and mobilization since their introduction in February 2022.

The previous time, on July 25, 2025, the president signed laws that extended these regimes until November 5.

Why is martial law being extended in Ukraine?

According to government officials, maintaining martial law and mobilization remains a necessary step to ensure the state's defense capability, coordination of military actions, and protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Ukraine enters the new year with martial law in force - and although this means continued restrictions and challenges, the state remains on course for stability, resistance, and victory. It is also worth noting that despite the challenges, Ukraine continues to receive foreign tourists, and even in recent times, the country's tourism industry has begun to revive somewhat.
