The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has announced the introduction of a new feature in the Diya app. It will allow citizens to receive notifications every time their data is checked in state registers.

How it will work

The access monitoring system will operate through the Trembita platform, which facilitates data exchange between various state bodies. Each request to check personal information will be recorded, and the user will receive a notification in Diya. It will contain details of who viewed the data and for what purposes, for example, when providing administrative or social services.

This will allow Ukrainians to control the use of their personal data and quickly find out about each request for it from state structures.

Exceptions to the rule

The Ministry of Digital Transformation specifies that notifications will not be displayed in cases related to criminal investigations, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, or pre-trial investigations. This is due to the need to maintain the secrecy of investigative actions and ensure national security.

Other digital innovations

It should be noted that on 1 September, an AI assistant began operating in beta mode on the Diya portal. It advises users and helps them obtain services online. Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasised that Ukraine has become the first country in the world to provide public services to citizens using artificial intelligence.

In addition, following a meeting with the Diya team, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also announced changes that will benefit Ukrainians. These include the expansion of the Mriya project for schools, new social and veteran services, an electronic court, 5G coverage testing, and support for Ukrainian manufacturers in the field of defence tech.

Reminder! New rules from Ukrzaliznytsia have made it more difficult for foreigners and Ukrainians without the Diya app to purchase tickets. Learn more about how to verify your identity, what you need to register, and which routes are subject to restrictions.
