On 12 September 2025, updated test questions for the theoretical exam on traffic rules (TR) began to be used in the service centres of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. This was reported by the Main Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

What has changed

The changes were approved by order of the Main Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and brought into line with the current Traffic Rules. The updates concern several sections:

▪️ Road signs and markings. Adjustments have been made to questions 206 and 207, as well as questions 9, 10 and 13 in the section on road markings. The changes took into account Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 364 of 1 April 2025.

▪️ Basics of safe driving. Question No. 87 has been revised to meet current requirements.

▪️ General provisions of the tests. The question bank has been updated to improve the quality of testing the knowledge of future drivers.

Rules for taking the theoretical exam on traffic rules

The theoretical exam at the MIA service centre consists of 20 test questions, which must be completed in 20 minutes. No more than two errors are allowed. If there are more errors, the exam is considered failed.

The structure of the questions is as follows:

10 — on traffic rules;

4 — on traffic safety basics;

4 on the structure and operation of the selected category of vehicle;

2 on providing first aid.

A retake is possible after 10 days. There is no limit to the number of retakes. You can prepare for the exam at a driving school or on your own using official materials.

Remember! The first months of driving are a special responsibility for yourself and other drivers on the road. For peace of mind, we recommend that, in addition to the mandatory OSAGO insurance, you take out Mini-HULL insurance, which covers not only damage to victims but also to your own car, and may also include risks from the consequences of war.
