Ukrainians in Albania, as in other European countries, have the right to receive temporary protection - this is a humanitarian residence permit, which gives the right to live and receive social support in the country.
Recently, the government of Albania extended the period of stay of Ukrainians on the basis of temporary protection until September 17, 2023.
The procedure for issuing a document and the benefits of protection follows.
Rules of entry in Albania
Albania is not a member state of the EU, but at the same time it has also simplified the requirements for entering its territory for Ukrainians. You can enter the territory of Albania on the basis of a valid foreign passport, including a non-biometric passport.
A visa is not required to enter the country.
If you are crossing the border with a child, in addition to a foreign passport, you must have with you documents confirming family or other ties with the child (birth certificate, parental consent to accompany and leave the child).
Medical insurance is not required, but it is worth having it for the first time for your own safety.
As of May 1, 2022, entry restrictions have been lifted in Albania due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.
To enter with pets, you must have a pet's veterinary passport.
From June 1, 2022, Green Card insurance is mandatory for everyone traveling abroad by car, including refugees. You can buy an insurance policy online here.
