At 2:50 a.m. on June 6, the russians insidiously blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam, causing total flooding in the Kherson region. 

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this catastrophe has been warned and feared, and when talking about its consequences, sometimes even apocalyptic scenarios were used. The explosion of the Kakhovka dam has seriously and irrevocably affected the lives of thousands of people and defenseless animals who are in immediate danger. 

Water continues to arrive and destroy many settlements in the Kherson region. Evacuations have been announced in the region.

The flooding has had devastating consequences for the livestock industry in the region. Thousands of animals have unfortunately died. Thousands need help. Most of the coastal areas of the Kherson region are now flooded, so we must respond quickly to save those who remain.

The Visit Ukraine team is launching an urgent emergency fundraiser to help the affected animals in the Kherson region. The affected animals cannot get food on their own in the flooded areas, so without our support, the frightened and abandoned four-legged friends are now on the verge of survival.
