Kyiv has adjusted its curfew rules, making them more flexible for residents of the capital during night-time restrictions. This does not mean that the restrictions have been lifted, but rather that there are now clearly defined exceptions. Find out what new opportunities have become available to Kyiv residents during curfew and which requirements remain mandatory
The curfew rules have been updated in the Ukrainian capital. The decision was made by the Kyiv Defence Council. The changes do not cancel the curfew itself, but introduce important and necessary exceptions for city residents.
Curfew in Kyiv: new rules
The curfew remains in effect, but now it is permitted to travel on foot or by private transport, including taxis, to get home or to a ‘Point of Invincibility.’ This also applies to situations where a train arrives late at night.
For Kyiv residents, this means that at night it is safe and legal to:
— get home after a transport delay,
— find warmth, light, communication and help,
— get access to real support centres.

Points of Resilience operate around the clock
From now on, Points of Resilience can operate 24/7. This applies to both municipal locations and responsible businesses that are ready to provide people with warmth, electricity, communication, water and hot tea. The city is calling on entrepreneurs to join the initiative and open such points — information and registration are available on the official platform.
It should be noted that local cafes and other establishments have already begun to join the initiative, offering citizens hot drinks, gadget charging and warmth.
At the same time, the authorities emphasise that these points should not be mere formal marks on the map, but actual places of assistance. Their work is under constant control, with regular checks on accessibility and conditions.
Citizens must carry documents with them
According to wartime regulations, citizens must carry documents confirming their identity. This rule remains in force even in the difficult situation that Ukraine is currently experiencing.
Despite the easing of restrictions, security remains a priority. Night patrols in the city are being stepped up, and all decisions are being implemented under the supervision of the security forces. Therefore, when out on the streets, it is necessary to carry identity documents, and those liable for military service must also carry military registration documents.
The updated rules are designed to make staying in the city at night more humane and practical, without compromising security in wartime.
