Moldova has officially extended the temporary protection mechanism for Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave their country due to full-scale russian aggression. The term has been extended until March 4, 2027, which will provide Ukrainians with stability and predictability for the next two years.

As explained by the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, the country has aligned itself with the European Union's decision, which at the end of last year also extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 2027. For Moldova, which is not a member of the EU, this was an important step towards unifying approaches and European standards in the field of refugee support.

The ministry stressed that the state will continue to provide safe and effective living conditions for Ukrainian refugees. These include housing assistance, social support, access to education and medical services, and support for integration programs.
