The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the opening of a new consular office in Poland — a vice-consulate in Rzeszów (Żeszów). This is Ukraine's sixth consular office in the country, and it will provide support to approximately 60,000 Ukrainians living in the counties of Rzeszów, Przemyśl, Jarosław, and Bieszczady.

What services will be provided?

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the office will soon be fully operational and will provide a full range of consular services: document processing, notarial services, consular registration, citizenship issues, and other services needed by Ukrainians abroad.

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga emphasized that ensuring the rights of Ukrainians abroad is a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

“Wherever Ukrainians are today, they should know for sure: the consul is nearby, the state is nearby, they are remembered, their interests will be represented, and their rights will be protected,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the opening ceremony, the minister presented the Amber Heart award to the city of Rzeszów and Voivode Teresa Kubas-Gul. It was through Rzeszów that millions of Ukrainians moved to safety in the first months of the war.
