Polish airports continue to strengthen their influence on the European budget flight market — it is from here that Ukrainians can now most easily fly to Europe at affordable prices. Ryanair and Wizz Air have announced the launch of new routes and the expansion of their bases, making travel even more convenient. Find out which flights have already been added and where you can now fly faster and cheaper
Polish airports continue to strengthen their role as the main hub for Ukrainian travellers. Against the backdrop of high demand and stable passenger traffic, the largest European low-cost airlines — Ryanair and Wizz Air — have announced the expansion of their programmes and the launch of new destinations from Polish cities. This means more convenient connections, more direct flights and, most importantly, more affordable prices.
Ryanair in Gdańsk: new destinations
The Irish low-cost airline has made a serious bet on Gdańsk: in the summer of 2026, the airport will be home to Ryanair's sixth aircraft. This will significantly expand the route network and provide passengers with an additional 300,000 seats.
The company is increasing the frequency of popular flights and adding flights to cities that are consistently in demand among tourists. These include Rome, Dubrovnik, Tirana, Palermo and Bucharest.
As a result, Ryanair's schedule for summer 2026 in Gdańsk will be a record-breaking one: 43 destinations and over 2.3 million available seats. For Ukrainians, who often choose Polish airports as their starting point for travel to Europe, this means more flexibility and better prices.

Wizz Air opens a new base in Warsaw-Modlin
On 1 December 2025, Wizz Air officially launched its operational base at Warsaw-Modlin Airport, an important low-cost transport hub near the Polish capital. Two Airbus A321neo aircraft are now based here, and 11 new direct flights have been added to the route map.
Passengers now have access to flights to major European cities and tourist destinations: Athens, Barcelona, Bergamo, Bergen, Malta, Paphos, Sofia, Brindisi, Alghero, Palermo and Chisinau.
After the launch of the new base, Wizz Air is increasing its total coverage to over 200 routes throughout Poland and plans to carry more than half a million passengers a year from Modlin alone. This is another plus for Ukrainians who need to get to the EU quickly and inexpensively.
