Top countries for digital nomads: where Ukrainians can work remotely most profitably in 2025
Countries around the world are creating special programs for digital nomads. Find out where Ukrainians can work remotely most profitably in 2025 and what visas are available
Remote work has become the norm, and the concept of a “digital nomad” has become one of the main trends in the global labor market. More and more countries are competing for specialists who earn money online and do not take up local jobs, offering them comfortable living conditions, special visas, and tax breaks. However, several destinations remain the most popular among Ukrainian freelancers, IT specialists, and entrepreneurs.
In this article, we discuss which countries will be the most beneficial for digital nomads in 2025 and what conditions they offer.
Spain: up to 5 years of legal residence and a tax rate of 15%
Spain actively attracts specialists who work for foreign companies. The Digital Nomad Visa allows you to live here for up to 5 years, and new residents enjoy a reduced tax rate of 15% for the first four years.
Advantages for Ukrainians:
● comfortable climate and high standard of living;
● strong IT communities in Barcelona, Valencia, and Madrid;
● developed infrastructure for remote work.
Portugal: comfort for freelancers and affordable D8/D7 programs
Portugal has been among the top countries for remote work for several years in a row. The following are available here:
● D8 visa — specifically for digital nomads;
● D7 visa — for people with passive income.
Lisbon and Porto have become hubs for freelancers, and Madeira has even launched a separate “digital village” for remote workers.
Why Ukrainians choose Portugal:
● loyal income requirements;
● relatively low prices;
● active international community;
● high demand for IT specialists.

UAE: zero tax and Remote Work Visa
The UAE has launched the Remote Work Visa program, which allows foreigners to work from Dubai for companies from any country. The key advantage is zero personal income tax, as well as modern infrastructure, stability, and a high level of security.
For Ukrainian IT specialists, Dubai has become one of the most comfortable places for long-term residence.
Asia: freedom, low costs, and large freelance communities
Thailand
Thailand is one of the most popular countries for digital nomads. This is especially true of Chiang Mai and Bangkok, which have well-developed infrastructure for online work. Advantages:
● low cost of living;
● fast internet;
● mild climate;
● warm community.
Bali (Indonesia)
Bali has long been the global capital of freelancing. The most popular visa is the B211A, which allows you to stay for a long time and renew the document directly on the island. Professionals choose Bali because of:
● a large selection of coworking spaces and work spaces;
● daily activities: surfing, yoga, trekking;
● affordable housing prices.
Georgia: tax rates starting at 1% and a simple stay
Georgia is one of the easiest destinations for Ukrainians who want to start working remotely abroad without complicated bureaucratic procedures. Advantages:
● “small business” tax regime — starting at 1%;
● most Ukrainian citizens can stay here for up to a year;
● cheap accommodation and food;
● convenient conditions for work and life.
Tip: when moving to Europe or other countries in the world in your own car, don't forget about the traffic rules: in some regions, toll roads are mandatory. For fast and safe travel, it is worth obtaining an electronic road vignette in advance. You can do this online at Visit Ukraine — you will only need your car details — the system will automatically tell you which vignette you need for your route when you enter your itinerary.
We remind you! A survey has determined the ranking of cities with the highest quality of life. Read about which European cities topped the list, why residents are satisfied with the conditions, and what factors influence comfort and safety.
