Queues on the Ukraine-Poland border: current situation November 2025

As of November 2, the largest number of cars on the Ukrainian-Polish border was recorded in front of the checkpoints for entry into Ukraine:

- “Krakivets” – about 70 cars;

- “Shehyny” – 60 cars;

- “Rava-Ruska” – 20 cars.

For exit from Ukraine, a slight accumulation was recorded only in “Shehyny” – about 10 cars.

- “Nyzhankavychi”;

When is the highest number of passengers observed on the Ukrainian-Polish border?

It is worth noting that the workload of checkpoints remains different and often depends on the region and day of the week. On weekends and before holidays, there is a greater influx of people wishing to leave for Poland, which can lead to delays.

Usually, the highest passenger flow is observed:

- Departure: Friday-Saturday;

- Entry: Sunday and Monday.

What documents do you need to have to cross the Ukrainian-Polish border?

To travel to Poland by car, you must have the following package of documents:

- A valid biometric passport or an old-style passport with a visa (how long a passport must be valid for traveling abroad - read the link);

- A vehicle registration certificate;

- Driver's license;

- International car insurance "Green Card";

- Medical/travel insurance policy (with a coverage amount of at least 30,000 euros);

- Confirmation of the purpose of the trip and financial support.

How will the border crossing process be in connection with the introduction of the ESS system?

At the border, travelers will be offered to go through a short registration procedure. First, fingerprints will be scanned and a facial photo will be taken, then the system will automatically read passport data.

This data is stored for several years, and for repeated trips, the procedure will not have to be completed if the passport has not been changed. All information is protected in accordance with European privacy standards and is stored for no more than five years.

If a traveler refuses to provide biometric data, he may be denied entry. Therefore, it is important to be prepared for the new requirements and allocate a little more time in advance for passing the control, especially in the first months after the launch of the system.
