The Ukrainian labor market in 2025 remains dynamic and competitive at the same time. Find out which professions have become the most in demand: from utility workers and drivers to accountants, teachers and nurses
The Ukrainian labor market in 2025 remains dynamic and multifaceted. On the one hand, there is a stable demand for labor specialties, on the other hand, competition among candidates in many areas significantly exceeds the number of open vacancies. According to the State Employment Service, since the beginning of the year alone, employers have offered more than 309 thousand vacancies, and 238 thousand Ukrainians have already found work or received support in opening their own business.
Employers express the greatest demand for employees who provide basic but vital functions - from auxiliary workers and drivers to nurses and accountants. Let's take a closer look at which professions have become the most in demand in 2025.

TOP-10 most popular vacancies in Ukraine
1st place - Auxiliary workers
These are the undisputed leaders of the rating - over 15 thousand vacancies. Helpers perform auxiliary tasks in warehouses, production workshops and construction sites: transporting materials, cleaning, sorting, small jobs. No special education is required, which makes the profession accessible, but at the same time physically exhausting.
Interestingly, the number of people wishing to work in this field even exceeds the supply - more than 18 thousand resumes were submitted.
2nd place - Truck drivers
More than 13 thousand vacancies were opened for drivers, and this profession traditionally remains one of the key ones. The logistics of the country depends on the transportation of goods and passengers, and therefore the demand for qualified drivers remains high.
Applicants - about 10.6 thousand.
3rd place - Food sellers
Food trade is one of the most stable industries, and it needs people every day. There are more than 13 thousand vacancies on the market, but competition is high: applicants - almost 20 thousand. For this profession, sociability, attentiveness and basic knowledge of commodity science are important.
4th place – Sales consultants
Sales consultants also remain popular in the retail sector. More than 9 thousand vacancies and about 11 thousand resumes were submitted. This includes work in clothing, appliance, cosmetics and other non-food stores.

5th place – Cooks
The demand for food specialists is always stable. In 2025, 8.7 thousand vacancies were opened, and there were even more applicants - about 12 thousand. Modern catering establishments are looking for cooks with experience, knowledge of technologies and a desire to work in a team.
6th place – Office cleaners
More than 8 thousand requests from employers concerned this particular profession. Cleaning offices, shopping malls, schools and other facilities is a job without which the functioning of any institution is impossible. There are more than 10.5 thousand candidates.
7th place – Accountants
The profession of accountant remains one of the most in-demand: 6.7 thousand vacancies and about 9 thousand candidates. The demand for financial specialists is explained by the fact that even in crisis conditions, no company can do without control over reporting and taxes.
8th place – Teachers of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums
There are 4.7 thousand vacancies open in the education sector, but there are more applicants – over 7 thousand. This applies to teachers of primary and secondary schools, as well as lyceums. Demand is especially high in regions where schools are actively resuming work.
9th place – Seamstresses
An interesting trend: in this category, demand is higher than supply. There were 4.6 thousand vacancies, and only 3.9 thousand specialists submitted resumes. This means that the market is experiencing a shortage of qualified personnel in light industry.
10th place - Nurses and Brothers
The medical field is holding steady: almost 4.5 thousand vacancies are open, but there are significantly more candidates - over 6.7 thousand. The need for medical personnel in Ukraine remains critically high, as the healthcare system is operating under increased workload.

Unique and rare vacancies in Ukraine
In addition to mass professions, there are also single offers on the market that sound quite exotic. Among them are bandurist, greenhouse manager, mill manager, mathematician, champagne maker, disco host, as well as narrow-profile engineers and technicians.
Such vacancies appear extremely rarely, but demonstrate the diversity of requests from employers.
Labor market trends in Ukraine in 2025
- Competition for candidates. In most categories, the number of applicants significantly exceeds the number of places. The only exceptions are some production specialties, in particular seamstresses.
- Salary growth. Almost 80% of agricultural holdings have increased wages, the rest plan to do so in the near future.

- Changing approaches to careers. According to international observations, in the world, the salaries of employees who remain in their positions have begun to grow faster than those who frequently change jobs.

- State regulation. From January 1, 2026, the salary threshold for booking employees will increase from 20 to 21.6 thousand UAH.
The Ukrainian labor market in 2025 confirms the old truth: the most in-demand professions remain those that provide the basic needs of society. The demand for auxiliary workers, drivers, salespeople or cooks remains consistently high, while there is an acute shortage of personnel in the fields of medicine and education.
At the same time, trends show that with the development of the economy and the growth of salaries, employers are becoming more demanding of qualifications, and candidates are more demanding of working conditions. This means that in the near future new leaders in popularity may appear on the market, but the main role of working and socially significant professions will remain unchanged.
