There are fewer vacancies in Poland

According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), at the end of the second quarter of 2025, there were 95,700 vacancies in the country. This is 5,300 fewer than in the previous quarter and 15,100 fewer than a year ago.

The highest demand is observed in the industrial processing sector — about 22,000 jobs. Among the most sought-after specialties are:

- industrial workers and craftsmen (44.9% of all vacancies),

- machine operators and assemblers (23.5%).

There is also a noticeable shortage of personnel in construction, where there is a lack of skilled workers to implement infrastructure and housing projects.

Who are the foreigners working in Poland?

Foreigners are playing an increasingly important role in supporting the Polish economy. As of March 2025, 1.67 million foreign citizens were officially employed, which is 5.5% more than a year earlier.

The largest groups of workers are:

Ukrainians — 714,900 people (67% of all foreigners),

citizens of Belarus, Georgia, India, Colombia, and the Philippines.

For the most part, foreigners hold positions that are less attractive to local residents, particularly in physically demanding and low-paying sectors.

Despite low unemployment, Poland continues to experience labor shortages in key areas such as industry, construction, and services. Experts emphasize that without the involvement of foreign workers, many industries would have much greater problems filling vacancies.

Reminder! We previously reported that Poland is preparing for important changes in the social support system for Ukrainians. Soon, the application process will become fully digital, which will improve control and transparency of payments. Learn more about the new electronic system, which will be launched in 2026, in our article.
