Leading countries by number of Ukrainians with protection
The main countries that have provided temporary protection to Ukrainians are:
▪️ Germany — 1,203,715 people (27.7% of the total number in the EU),
▪️ Poland — 993,665 (22.9%),
▪️ Czech Republic — 380,680 (8.8%).
An increase in the number of Ukrainians with temporary protection was recorded in 24 EU countries. The largest increase in July was recorded in:
▪️ Germany — +7,070 persons (+0.6%),
▪️ Romania — +2,300 (+1.2%),
▪️ Czech Republic — +2,260 (+0.6%).
The increase in the number of Ukrainians under temporary protection shows that, despite more than three years of war, many families continue to seek safety and support in EU countries. There, they are provided with access to housing, medical care, education and the right to work.
Experts predict that the number of Ukrainians with this status may continue to grow in the future, especially if the military action drags on.
Moreover, it should be noted that the Ukrainian government recently allowed young men under the age of 22 to travel abroad, which has likely contributed to the increase in the number of recipients of temporary protection in Europe.
