This summer, Ukrainians were increasingly choosing to vacation abroad. According to the tour operator Join UP! Ukraine, more than 236,000 people went on trips, which is 70% more than last year (139,000). This trend indicates a recovery in demand despite the war and economic challenges.

Among foreign destinations this summer, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, and Montenegro were the most popular. Demand for air travel to these countries has increased, but prices have also changed:

● Egypt — 7% increase in price

● Turkey — 13% increase in price;

● Greece — 4% increase in price;

● Montenegro — 1% decrease in price.

It should be noted that due to the lack of air service, tourists did not depart from Ukraine, but from neighboring countries. Ukrainians chose most flights from Chisinau in Moldova (55%), as well as from the Polish cities of Rzeszów (12%) and Warsaw (5%). This logistics became a typical practice during the war.

Bus tours: stability and affordability

Bus tours remain popular among Ukrainians. This format remains one of the most convenient and affordable vacation options. In 2025, the most popular destinations were Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, and Turkey.

The dynamics of prices for bus tours varied:

● Montenegro — 57% increase;

● Bulgaria — 13% increase;

● Turkey — 6% decrease.

Bus trips to Bulgaria are especially popular. They combine optimal prices, comfortable travel, and clear logistics, which is important during martial law.

Domestic tourism: focus on the Carpathians and health resorts

Domestic tourism remains relevant. Ukrainians are increasingly choosing the Carpathians and well-known health resorts in Western Ukraine: Truskavets, Polyana, Skhidnytsia, and Zakarpattia.

On average, the cost of vacationing in Ukraine has increased by 10-15% compared to last year. This is due to both an increase in the cost of services and an increase in demand.

Demand for Odesa and the Odesa region remains below pre-war levels. The reasons for this are security risks and an increase in the cost of hotel services.

Tip: If you are planning an independent trip, we recommend booking tickets in advance — the most convenient way to do this is through online services, such as the Visit Ukraine ticket booking system, where you can choose the best type of transport and route (we offer tickets for trains, buses, and planes in Ukraine and between cities around the world), which significantly saves time and money.

Safety is no less important. Taking out travel insurance for trips abroad is a mandatory step that provides financial protection in case of unforeseen situations. Insurance policies available on Visit Ukraine cover both medical expenses and unforeseen risks, which is especially relevant in the current situation.

We remind you! Kyiv demonstrates the resilience of the tourism sector even during the war: in 2025, the capital set a new record for tourism revenue. Revenues increased by almost 65% compared to last year, which was made possible by the development of domestic tourism and an active promotional campaign for the city. Read how much the capital earned and how the funds are being spent in our previous article.
