The Ukrainian government has once again stepped up its support for small and medium-sized businesses, especially in the creative sector. On 26 August 2025, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the launch of the updated ‘Own Business’ programme, which provides targeted grants of up to UAH 1 million.

Grant amounts and eligibility requirements


The programme offers four levels of funding:


▪️ UAH 100,000 — for freelancers who are sole proprietors;

▪️ UAH 200,000 — for businesses that create one job;

▪️ UAH 500,000 — for the creation of 2 jobs and co-financing by the entrepreneur in a 70/30 ratio;

▪️ UAH 1,000,000 — for the creation of 4 jobs and the same co-financing.

Which industries can be supported?


The programme aims to develop a wide range of creative economy sectors, including:


▪️ film and video industry;

▪️ libraries, museums, theatres;

▪️ architecture, design, media, photography;

▪️ game and software development;

▪️ PR and advertising;

▪️ individual artistic activities, such as folk arts and crafts.


According to Yulia Svyrydenko, over the three years of the ‘Own Business’ programme, 28,000 Ukrainians have received grants, including more than 2,000 combatants.
