Very soon, the Carpathians will have a new tourist attraction — a 400-kilometer-long bike route that will combine hiking and cycling, be barrier-free and cross-border. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

Opening of the first section

On August 31, 2025, the first part of the renovated “Transcarpathian Tourist Route” will be opened. Its starting section will be 55 kilometers long and will run along the following route:

Ust-Chorna – Kedrynske Forestry – Turbatske Forestry – the source of the Black Tisa River – Chorno-Tysyanske Forestry (village of Chorno-Tisa) – the town of Yasinya.

Grand plan — 400 km of the Carpathians

As reported by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, the total length of the route will be 400 km. It will pass through the entire region: from Maly Berezny to Ust-Chorna and Yasinya, with exits to the Slovak, Hungarian, Polish, and Romanian borders. Thus, the route will become a real cross-border tourist route connecting several countries.

The organizers emphasize that the route will be equipped for people with different levels of training — both experienced travelers and families with children or beginners. Signposts, information stands, rest areas, an observation tower, and bicycle parking will be installed along the route.

Tourists will be able to obtain information about interesting sites nearby, places to eat, and places to stay.

“Our goal is to launch the ‘Transcarpathian Tourist Route’ as a bike route: accessible and inclusive, with appropriate infrastructure and signage. We want everyone to be able to travel through the Carpathians: adults and children, those who are physically fit and amateurs, veterans and people with disabilities,” said Biletsky.
