In 2025, several countries will be recognised as leaders in education and healthcare. Find out where in Europe the best conditions for studying and health are
The choice of a country to study or live in often depends on the quality of education and healthcare. In 2025, Northern and Western European countries remain leaders in these areas, continuing to set standards for the entire continent.
Education in Europe
Estonia tops the ranking of European education systems. According to the latest PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study, Estonian schoolchildren have the highest scores in Europe in reading, mathematics and science. In addition, the country is actively developing digital technologies in education, from the use of robotics to the introduction of artificial intelligence into the learning process.
Finland ranks second and is traditionally renowned for its free university system and strong state support for students. The Finnish model makes higher education accessible to all while maintaining high academic standards.
Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark and France also made it into the top ten. Germany stands out as one of the world leaders in terms of the number and quality of analytical and engineering programmes. The United Kingdom is proud of its strong university system, recognised by THE and QS rankings. Sweden and Denmark remain among the best thanks to strong academic support and a long tradition of innovation. France is in the top 5 according to USN, offering a wide choice of both public and private institutions.
The leading countries share common features such as long and well-thought-out school education, significant investment in digital learning and wide access to free or subsidised programmes. All this forms a strong educational ecosystem capable of preparing future generations for the challenges of the modern world.
