Women's compartments on Ukrzaliznytsia trains: new destinations now available

Ukrzaliznytsia is expanding the list of trains with women's compartments for the safe travel of women and mothers with children. Find out which routes are already available and how to conveniently book a ticket online.

Comfort and safety are priorities for Ukrainian female passengers. Ukrzaliznytsia has taken these needs into account by announcing the expansion of its women-only carriage initiative. From July 25, 2025, three more trains will have separate carriages where only women or women with children under the age of 5 can travel. This is a logical continuation of an existing project that is becoming increasingly popular among Ukrainian women.

Which trains have women-only carriages?

Ukrzaliznytsia currently offers women-only carriages on 15 trains (carriage No. 5). Below is a complete list of destinations:

→ No. 1/2 Kharkiv — Vorokhta

→ No. 3/4 Zaporizhzhia — Uzhhorod

→ No. 5/6 Zaporizhzhia — Yasinya

→ No. 15/16 Kharkiv — Yasinya

→ No. 17/18 Kharkiv — Mukachevo (Uzhhorod)

→ No. 22/21 Lviv — Kharkiv (from July 25, 2025)

→ No. 26/25 Odesa — Yasinya

→ No. 29/30 Kyiv — Uzhhorod

→ No. 38/37 Kyiv — Zaporizhzhia (from July 25, 2025)

→ No. 41/42 Dnipro — Truskavets

→ No. 43/44 Cherkasy — Ivano-Frankivsk

→ No. 75/76 Kyiv — Kryvyi Rih

→ No. 81/82 Kyiv — Chop (Uzhhorod)

→ No. 95/96 Kyiv — Rakhiv

→ No. 98/97 Kovel — Kyiv (from July 25, 2025)

Important: the cost of travel in a women's compartment is the same as for a regular compartment, but it provides greater comfort and psychological safety.

How to book a ticket in a women's compartment?

You can book a ticket for a women's compartment via the Ukrzaliznytsia app or website. When selecting a seat in a compartment car, if the option is available, you will see a special mark “Women's compartment.” This allows you to avoid accidentally booking a mixed compartment.

To save time searching for routes, you can also use the ticket booking system on the Visit Ukraine portal — its convenient interface allows you to find the right destination, check availability, and quickly purchase a ticket online.

We remind you! In July, a new European standard railway line will open in Uzhhorod, connecting the city with Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and Košice without any transfers.
