Information
Excursion to the Pirogovo Museum - a journey into the depths of the Ukrainian soul
We invite you to travel back in time to the authentic world of the Ukrainian village, where every house breathes history, every fence remembers the steps of past generations, and the air is filled with the spirit of ancestors. The open-air museum in Pirogovo is not just an exhibition, it is a living encyclopedia of Ukrainian culture and life of the 16th-20th centuries, collected from all historical and ethnographic regions of our country.
Dozens of unique architectural objects - collected from Lviv, Polissya, Slobozhanshchyna, Hutsul, and other regions - are spread over a vast area of more than 130 hectares. Here you can see with your own eyes how Ukrainians lived, worked, and celebrated in different eras.
During the tour, you will follow the footsteps of Ukrainian ancestors, look into a traditional peasant hut, feel the coziness and warmth of a clay oven, and learn how to weave cloth, bake bread, or celebrate a wedding. The guide will tell you the fascinating stories behind each house and each household item. And in the ancient windmills and churches built without a single nail, the spirit of folk wisdom and craftsmanship will come to life.
This is a journey that awakens national memory, evokes sincere admiration and pride. It also leaves behind a quiet nostalgia for the real, simple and deep. An excursion to Pirogovo is something that is truly worth seeing, feeling, and keeping in your heart.
The tour is conducted in Ukrainian and English.
