USAID has recently announced the launch of a new grant for small and medium-sized women-owned and family-operated businesses. Here's who can participate and how to apply. 

New grant from USAID: what is known 

The new USAID program called Competitive Economy of Ukraine is aimed at supporting women-owned and family-operated businesses that plan to expand and develop their activities, restore them, and open new areas. 

In total, USAID plans to provide about 100 grants. The grant amount will range from $10,000 to $35,000. 

What exactly is the grant initiative designed for? 

• Business expansion in Ukraine;

• Business relocation;

• To enter the international market;

• Optimization of processes to increase efficiency;

• Implementation of new innovative solutions.

First and foremost, grants will be available to textile and home furnishings, cosmetics and craft production, as well as food processing, furniture manufacturing, etc. 

However, it is noted that the agency will also accept grant applications from other areas of activity. 

How to apply for a USAID grant? 

• First, you need to fill out the following documents; 

• Be on time to submit these documents through the online platform. 

Keep in mind that applications will be reviewed in stages, taking into account the following deadlines: 

• until May 19, 2023;

• June 16, 2023;

• July 24, 2023.
