Despite all the challenges of recent years, every season the city attracts thousands of tourists who dream of relaxing on the Black Sea coast. Preparing for the beach season in Odessa

One of the most important stages of preparation for the beach season is ensuring safety. In 2025, the situation remains difficult, and the Odessa authorities are doing everything possible to minimise risks for holidaymakers. As part of the preparations, regular checks are carried out on beach areas for mines and other dangerous objects that people may encounter.

Special teams consisting of representatives of the State Emergency Service and municipal services have been set up for this purpose to thoroughly inspect the coastline. As Oleg Kipper, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, noted, one of the main tasks is to ensure safety and warn tourists about places that may be dangerous for recreation.

Which beaches will be open in 2025?

In 2025, the authorities want to open twice as many beaches as last year – more than forty, said Oleg Kiper, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, during a telethon.

‘Today, a significant number of our military personnel and their families are also involved in this process. The most beneficial vitamin is our sun and sea, which the soldiers enjoy during the season. Today, both businesses and municipal services are making preparations for its opening,’ said Kiper.

Last year, preparations began for 20 beach areas, but following inspections and preparations, it was decided to open only 10. The safety situation on the coast remains a key factor influencing the final decision.

Among the beaches planned to open are the following popular areas:

▪️ Kaleton Beach — one of the most famous in Odessa.

▪️ Inclusive Beach — an area specially prepared for people with disabilities.

▪️ True Man Sun of a Beach and Red Line beaches — among those looking for active recreation and a beach party atmosphere.

▪️ Ithaca, Ibiza and Pub beaches — favourite spots for young people and fans of active recreation.

In addition, in the middle of last summer, the authorities opened beaches in the village of Vylkove, known for its unique nature, thanks to which this place has also been nicknamed the ‘Ukrainian Venice’.

When does the beach season start?

The exact date of the opening of the 2025 beach season in Odessa has not yet been determined. Everything will depend on the safety situation on the beaches and the results of inspections. The season usually opens in early June, but in 2025 the situation may require changes. The authorities are expected to announce the official opening after all beaches have been inspected and prepared to receive holidaymakers.
