Ukrzaliznytsia launches additional trains in September: new destinations and schedule

September will bring more opportunities for rail travel. Ukrainian Railways has scheduled new trains for several regions of Ukraine, including routes from Chop to Kremenchuk, Yasinya to Kropyvnytskyi, and Kyiv to Poltava. Find out more about train schedules and stops to plan your trip

September is traditionally a busy month for travel: some people are returning from vacation, students are heading back to school, and many Ukrainians are planning business trips or visits to relatives. To meet the growing demand and make travel more convenient, Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the launch of additional trains.

The new connections will cover several regions of the country and provide more seats for passengers on popular routes.

New routes from UZ

Train No. 260/259 Chop — Kremenchuk

from Chop: from September 2 on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Departure at 14:24, arrival in Kremenchuk at 13:33.

From Kremenchuk: from September 3 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Departure at 14:18, arrival in Chop at 12:45.

Train No. 258/257 Yasinya — Kropyvnytskyi

From Yasinya: from September 2 on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Departure at 14:55, arrival in Kropyvnytskyi at 13:05.

From Kropyvnytskyi: from September 3 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Departure at 14:38, arrival in Yasinya at 13:18.

These new flights were made possible by optimizing operations: trains on the main route will immediately depart for their next flight.

Additional train Kyiv – Poltava

To increase the number of seats for travelers, from September 3 to 29 (on odd days), train No. 222/221 Kyiv – Poltava will run.

Schedule:

From Kyiv: 07:57 – arrival in Poltava at 12:39

From Poltava: 14:59 – arrival in Kyiv at 20:10

In Poltava, the train will depart from and arrive at the Kyiv railway station.

Stops: Hrebinka, Lubny, Myrhorod.

The train consists of compartment and open-plan cars adapted for daytime seating. This service was made possible thanks to the efficient use of the night train on the southern route: instead of standing idle during the day, it will now make an additional trip.

The key idea behind the changes is to optimize the use of rolling stock: instead of standing idle for long periods, cars will be given a second assignment during the day. This not only allows for more efficient organization of work, but also gives passengers more travel options.

All tickets for the new services are available online and at station ticket offices.
