A route between the Butsky and Tyasminsky canyons will appear in Cherkasy region

A new tourist route between the Butsky and Tyasminsky canyons will start in the Cherkasy region. The project will include photo zones, 3D models, virtual tours, and modern infrastructure. Learn more about this initiative aimed at developing ecotourism and preserving unique nature
A tourism project has been launched in Cherkasy region that will unite two unique natural sites — the Butsky and Tyasminsky canyons.
Thanks to a grant from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and support from the MHP-Hromadi charitable foundation, a new ecological and cultural route with modern tourist infrastructure is being created in the region.
A bridge between canyons: modern technology and living nature
The project is being implemented in cooperation between the Butsk and Kamyanska communities and is called “Photo zones as a bridge between the Butsk and Tiasmyn canyons.”
Its main goal is to preserve the natural heritage of the Cherkasy region, promote the development of eco-tourism, and popularize unique tourist locations in the region.
What the initiative involves:
- Creating new photo zones and installing 3D models at key points along the route;
- Launching virtual tours with audio guides and 3D tours;
- Improving tourist infrastructure — navigation signs, rest areas, amenities for travelers;
- Conducting a promotional campaign to attract tourists;
- Holding cultural and educational events and campaigns to preserve nature.
Project funding:
793,000 UAH — grant from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation;
50,000 UAH each — contributions from the Buky and Kamyanska communities.

Why is this important?
The Buky Canyon is one of the most picturesque places in the Cherkasy region. Located in the village of Buky, it attracts tourists with its cliffs, the Vir waterfall, and opportunities for outdoor recreation, from picnics to boat trips.
The Tiasmyn Canyon in Kamianka is a geological monument over 2 billion years old with vertical cliffs up to 15 meters high. This place is shrouded in legends and rich in unique landscapes.
The new route will not only promote domestic tourism but also make little-known gems of Ukraine accessible to a wider audience. Modern digital solutions — virtual tours, 3D models, audio guides — will allow people to travel remotely, opening up Cherkasy region to everyone.
The project creates a new tourist bridge between the canyons, combining the beauty of wild nature with the possibilities of the digital world. The idea has the potential to become a model for the development of eco-tourism in other regions of Ukraine.
