It is crucial to understand that the insurance coverage applies only to damage caused to other road users, but not to damage to the vehicle owner. In other words, if you accidentally damage another driver's car abroad, the insurance company will compensate the injured party, not you personally.

At the same time, it should be understood that it is impossible to travel outside Ukraine in a vehicle with Ukrainian registration without a valid Green Card - border control will necessarily check for such an insurance policy.

Previously, car insurance prices were fixed, but the new law abolished the single tariff and introduced free pricing. From now on, insurance companies will independently determine the factors that affect the cost of the policy.

The price of insurance is now influenced by:

1. Type of vehicle - the cost for cars, trucks, trailers and motorcycles is different;

2.  Policy term - insurance can be issued for a period of 15 days to a year.

3. Insurance company - each company sets its rates.

Additionally, the driver's history and risks after the insured event are important. It is important to know that starting in 2025, the insurance does not take effect from the moment of registration, but only from the next day.

How to buy a Green Card for a trailer and semi-trailer?
