A foreigner is allowed to enter Ukraine by his own car, but it can be used exclusively for his own needs. Foreign citizens can drive cars with foreign license plates in Ukraine for up to one year. After the one-year period, the car with foreign license plates must leave Ukraine.

To enter Ukraine by car, it is mandatory to have a “Green Card” insurance policy.

Also, to protect the car from the risks of war, it is worth having a Basiс Kasko insurance policy. You can take out a policy for a car with both Ukrainian and foreign registration.
