Le train d'évacuation pour les réfugiés d'Ukraine vers l'Allemagne a été prolongé jusqu'en mai 2023. Découvrez-en plus sur le calendrier
Attention! The free train for Ukrainian refugees from Przemyśl, Poland, to Hannover, Germany, is being canceled. This decision is due to the fact that the volunteers at the Hanover train station are completing their activities. The last trip will take place on April 14, 2023.
Citizens of Ukraine who have taken refuge in Poland can use the free train to Germany, which has been extended until May 2023. Here's how to buy a ticket and take advantage of the free travel further.
Schedule and rules for traveling by evacuation train
A free train from the Polish station Przemyśl departs every other day to the German city of Hannover with a single transit stop in Frankfurt am Oder for those who plan to travel to Berlin and beyond.
In the opposite direction to Poland, the train runs without passengers.
Please note! In April it will run to Hanover from Przemyśl on even days. Schedule:
• Departure from Przemyśl is at 22:30;
• Frankfurt am Oder (transit stop) - 10:00 (+-1 hour);
• Arrival in Hannover Messe/Laatzen at 16:00 (+-1 hour).
Important! Those who want to travel to Germany for evacuation purposes should wait on the platform of the Polish station at the right time. Volunteers and Red Cross staff will help you find your way around.
How do I buy a ticket for the humanitarian train Przemyśl - Hannover?
You do not need a ticket, registration card or any other document to board the train.
Peculiarities of boarding the train
When boarding the humanitarian train, priority will be given to certain categories of citizens:
• persons wearing a bracelet from the Polish Red Cross;
• families with children;
• elderly people;
• citizens with disabilities.
The rest of the passengers will be able to travel free of charge if there are seats left in the train.
What should I do if there is not enough space on the train?
There are cases when there are more people willing to travel on a humanitarian train than there are seats in the cars. If you don't have enough space, contact the volunteers at the railway station. They will accommodate you at the humanitarian center in Przemysl and provide you with a special bracelet that will guarantee you a seat on the next train.
The evacuation train Przemyśl - Hannover has been canceled. Is it really true?
Please note! The organizers refute the fake news about the cancellation of flights.
"Over the past day, information has appeared on the Internet about panic calls to go to Przemyśl to get to Hannover by our train, because the number of cars on each flight will allegedly almost double due to the fact that flights will soon be canceled altogether", - the statement said.
It is noted that the final number of cars that can accommodate people for the trip is known only upon arrival in Przemyśl after returning from Germany. It is then that you will know how many cars are operational to provide your trip not only with seats, but also with warmth.
Furthermore, it is emphasized that it is impossible to publish information about the number of cars every time.
As one of the volunteers at the Przemyśl station explained, not everyone manages to travel to Hannover on the first try. To get a seat on the train, you have to go through collective centers.
However, it is possible to leave immediately only if there are seats available in the last minutes before departure. These rules were established by the German side in cooperation with the Polish Red Cross and the Humanitarian Aid Center in Przemyśl.
We remind you! Refugees from Ukraine residing in Germany can count on a part-time job called minijob. Read more about whether this format of work allows you to receive benefits and not pay insurance premiums here.
