Starting in June 2025, Ukrainians and foreigners will be able to travel by a new rail route connecting the border cities of the two countries. According to rynek-kolejowy.pl, Polish railway operator SKPL Cargo has announced the launch of a regular passenger service between the city of Sianok in Poland and Khyrov in Lviv region. The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the local authorities of Lviv region and the Polish side, and has already been successfully tested.

How the new Syianok - Khyriv trains will run: schedule, route and stops

According to official information, two pairs of trains will be launched daily. One of them will run from Zagórz through Syanok to Khyriv, and the other will run in the opposite direction: from Syanok to Zagórz and then to Khyriv. This route allows for convenient travel not only for residents of the border towns, but also for tourists visiting Bieszczady or Lviv Oblast.

The train will stop at the following stations:

● Sianok (PL)

● Ugierczy (PL)

● Ustrzyki Dolne (PL)

● Kroscienko (PL)

● Khyriv (UA)

The total length of the route will be approximately 70 km, and the duration of the trip will be up to 3 hours and 50 minutes.

In the future - extension of the route to Przemyśl

Representatives of SKPL Cargo do not rule out that in the future the route will be extended to Przemyśl, one of the main transport hubs on the Polish-Ukrainian border. However, the realization of this plan depends on the opening of the border crossing point in Malhowice, which is currently inaccessible.

Expansion of the route will allow connecting Syianok and Khyriv with the already established connection Przemyśl-Lviv-Kyiv, which will open up even more opportunities for travel, tourism and business.
