After the outbreak of a full-scale war, millions of Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in other European countries. This was reported by Lidia Tkachenko, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Demography and Social Studies, on Kyiv24 TV channel.

At the same time, many of them are actively trying to integrate into new societies, in particular through employment. According to Tkachenko, Poland and Germany are the most popular destinations for Ukrainian refugees.

Jobs for Ukrainians in Europe: where are the chances of finding a job greater?

Poland is the leader in the number of employed Ukrainians

Poland ranks first among the EU countries in terms of the number of Ukrainians who are officially employed. This result can be explained by several factors. First of all, it is the relatively simple conditions for legal employment, lower language requirements, as well as linguistic and cultural proximity, which facilitates the adaptation process.

In addition, the Polish labor market has long been familiar with Ukrainian workers, and employers are often willing to accept new employees, minimizing bureaucratic barriers. Social benefits in Poland are not too high, which also encourages Ukrainians to look for work more actively to provide for themselves and their families.

Germany - high social support, but language barriers

Germany ranks second in terms of the number of employed Ukrainians, although the percentage of those employed is somewhat lower. The reason for this is the stricter requirements for German language proficiency, which creates a significant barrier for many refugees. Despite discussions on the possibility of easing the requirements for Ukrainians, including employment in their specialty even without language skills, these initiatives have not yet been implemented.

At the same time, Germany provides strong social support that allows some Ukrainians to focus on language learning or retraining before entering the labor market.

Poland and Germany remain the key countries where Ukrainian refugees are most interested in finding employment. Poland's success is due to more accessible conditions, while in Germany the situation is more difficult due to language and administrative barriers, although social support is much more extensive.
