How to receive a one-time payment?
To receive financial assistance, refugees must meet certain conditions. Firstly, the payment is available to Ukrainian citizens or third-country nationals who arrived from the territory of Ukraine and crossed the EU external border no more than 40 days ago. Secondly, it is necessary to register with the Lithuanian Migration Department to obtain a temporary residence permit.
Refugee flows have decreased, but the need for support remains
IOM Lithuania Chief of Mission Eitvydas Bingialis emphasized that although the number of newly arrived refugees from Ukraine in Lithuania has decreased, Lithuania receives several dozen Ukrainians fleeing the war every week.
According to Bingialis, financial assistance is the most necessary for these people in the first stages of their stay in the country.
Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, almost 91 thousand Ukrainian citizens have arrived in Lithuania. This initiative will help vulnerable groups adapt and meet their basic needs during their stay in the country.
Ukrainian refugees who meet the above conditions can contact local IOM offices for more information and advice on how to apply for assistance.
We remind you! About half of the Ukrainians who moved to Lithuania after the war found work. During this time, they paid €205 million to the budget. We wrote about the professions most often chosen by Ukrainian citizens in Lithuania.
