Do Ukrainians need a visa to visit Luxembourg in 2025?

Yes, for short stays (up to 90 days within a 180-day period), Ukrainians with a biometric passport can stay in Luxembourg without a visa under the Schengen visa-free regime.

However, for stays longer than 90 days or if you intend to live, work or study in the country, you will need a long-term D visa or the appropriate permit.

Luxembourg for Ukrainians: stages and visa application

1. Select the type of visa (C or D) according to the purpose of your visit.

2. Collect all documents in the required languages: English, French or German (or have them translated by a sworn translator).

3. Submit your application to the Luxembourg consulate in your country of residence (or to the agent country) no earlier than 6 months before your trip (for D visas — 3 months).

4. Pay the consular fee (up to €80 for C, about €70 for D) plus possible additional service fees.

5. Consideration of the application. As a rule, a decision is made within 15 calendar days, or up to 30–45 days in complex cases. After a positive decision, the applicant receives a visa stamp in their passport — this does not guarantee entry, but allows travel to Luxembourg.

For successful document processing, it is recommended to contact qualified visa lawyers. Specialists will advise you on the necessary documents, help you prepare your application and provide full legal support throughout the process, from start to finish.
