If you are planning a holiday with your family or friends but are not ready to spend a lot, fortunately, there are still cities in Europe where a week's trip will cost less than a seaside holiday in Turkey or a popular resort. We have put together a list of 15 affordable destinations where you can have a great holiday without breaking the bank.
Poland
According to the British agency INK Digital, five Polish cities are among the ten cheapest for family holidays in Europe. Three of them are at the top of the ranking.
1. Poznań — the best value for money: around PLN 10,940 per week for a family of four. The city offers a cosy centre, museums, parks and an active cultural life.
2. Łódź — second place in the ranking. A former industrial centre with a cinematic atmosphere. Expected costs — 11,650 PLN.
3. Warsaw — the country's capital and third on the list: 12,300 PLN per week.
4. Krakow (about 12,500 PLN) and Wroclaw (~14,800 PLN) — tourist gems with a rich history — also made it into the top ten.
The country is easily accessible by transport, has a developed infrastructure, many cheap flights, low prices for accommodation and food. Ideal for travelling by car! But remember that travelling in your own car requires a Green Card — compulsory insurance, which you can obtain from Visit Ukraine in just a few clicks.
