An unusual art project has been launched in Ukraine — a traveling exhibition in train carriages, presented by Ukrzaliznytsia and the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

The art train with the photo exhibition “Courage of a Nation” has embarked on a four-month journey through Ukrainian train stations to tell the story of our people's resilience through the lens of American photographer and philanthropist Howard Buffett.

A gallery on wheels: three carriages — hundreds of stories

This train is more than just a means of transport. It is a gallery on wheels. Three specially converted carriages house a photo exhibition based on Buffett's travels in Ukraine, particularly in the frontline regions.

The photographs show the courage, resilience, and humanity of Ukrainians who face aggression on a daily basis.

Mohammed Mohaisen, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner known for his projects on the power of the human spirit, also contributed to the exhibition's concept.

The exhibition is complemented by a special atmosphere created by lighting effects and musical accompaniment, all designed to convey the emotional scale of what is depicted in the photographs.

From Odesa to the Carpathians: a journey through Ukraine

The first city on the art train's route is Odessa, where the gallery on wheels can be visited until June 17. Next, there will be dozens of stops across the country, from the southern and eastern regions to the western regions and the Carpathians. For security reasons, the exact route schedule is not being disclosed.

Free admission and advance registration

Admission to the exhibition is free. All expenses are covered by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. To avoid queues and get to the event in your city, the organizers advise you to register in advance on the website.

This project is not just a cultural event, but a journey through the pain, hope, and strength of a nation. It is a symbol that art can speak about war, humanity, and dignity where words are sometimes powerless.
