As part of a large-scale modernization of its rail infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced new convenient interchange routes to allow Ukrainians from the south and center to easily reach Uzhhorod, the Carpathian resorts, and Bukovyna. The new options are available, in particular, for passengers from Odesa, Poltava, and Kremenchuk, whose rail connections were partially limited due to the construction of the European gauge on the Chop-Uzhhorod section.

How to get to the Carpathians with transfers from Odesa, Poltava and Kremenchuk: new transfer cars

Due to technical work in Zakarpattia, Ukrzaliznytsia has temporarily reduced train traffic in the direction of Uzhhorod, in particular from Odesa, Poltava, and Kremenchuk. The final destination for most trains was Mukachevo station.

To avoid inconvenience to passengers, the carrier has introduced guaranteed transfers through Lviv. Now passengers can get to Uzhhorod, the Carpathians, and Chernivtsi conveniently and without long waits. Thus, passengers from:

● Odesa can take the train №12/11 Odesa - Lviv, and in Lviv transfer to trains №59/60 Kyiv - Uzhhorod or №45/46 Kharkiv - Uzhhorod;

● Poltava and Kremenchuk can use the train №125-129/126-130 Poltava/Kremenchuk - Mukachevo, and then transfer to the corresponding trains to Uzhhorod in Lviv.

On the section Lviv-Uzhhorod-Lviv, pre-sale of one car for the above routes has been opened.

In addition to Uzhhorod, the options for travelers from Kremenchuk, Khorol and Hlobyne to the Carpathian and Bukovyna resorts have been significantly improved. The new connecting train service makes it easy to get there:

● Ivano-Frankivsk and Yaremche,

● Tatariv-Bukovel, Vorokhta, Yasinia

● Kolomyia and Chernivtsi.

A transfer in Lviv from the train 129/130 Kremenchuk - Mukachevo - Kremenchuk allows you to choose the following routes:

● №25/26 Odesa - Yasinia;

● №34/33 Yasinia - Kryvyi Rih (both ways);

● №116/115 Zaporizhzhia - Chernivtsi;

● №135/136 Odesa - Chernivtsi.

Thus, travelers from the central part of the country now have full access to popular tourist destinations in western Ukraine.

How can I buy tickets for the new Ukrzaliznytsia transfer cars?

Tickets are already available for purchase. Passengers can conveniently book a transfer trip on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia, in the mobile application or at the ticket offices of railway stations.

For even greater convenience, use the Visit Ukraine platform, which offers an online ticket booking system for trains, buses and planes. This allows you not only to combine routes but also to choose the most convenient travel options in one place - quickly, safely and without queues.
